Power News: No end to Rautahat tension

The local administration has imposed a curfew the district with effective from 2 pm Saturday to take the circumstance under control.Over two dozen people, including security personnel, were injured when local people in Gaur, who have been protesting.

The demonstration which is going on for four days has disrupted the normal public life. During today’s protest, six demonstrators were hit by rubber bullets. They are being treated at Gaur Hospital. The protestors torched a police vehicle with the number plate Ba 1 Jha 582 at Tikuliyaghat. The government had decided to establish branches of the District Offices of Land Survey and Land Revenue to facilitate the people of one municipality and 16 VDCs of Northen Rautahat. Meanwhile, the government decided on April 4 to postpone the opening of the Offices, which was to be effective as per its October decision.
