Dolakha, Kalinchowk Temple At Risk After Landslide

Kalinchok is a village development committee in Dolakha District in the Janakpur Zone of north-eastern Nepal. At the time of the 1991 Nepal census it had a population of 2261 people living in 458 individual households. In the north part of the Charikot, at a distance of 18 Km., there lies Kalinchowck temple at an altitude of 3842 miter. Goddess Kalinchowck is highly noted as a wishful filling goddess through out the country. The temple has its remarkable significance on the occasion of Janaipurnima, Dasai, Chaite Dasai, a huge procession takes place centered around the goddess. Kalinchowck is 6 hours’ walk uphill from Charikot. It is a famous pilgrimage site for Hindus. The fascinating Klinchowck hill also offers a gorgeous view of the Himalian range, enchanting hundred green hills, beautiful settlements etc.
