Friendly match between cine artists, politicians; PM invited

Posted by Anup Baral | June 4th, 2015 :
A delegation of sports journalists have invited the Prime Minister to take part in a friendly football match between the cine artists and leaders of political parties.

The delegation met Prime Minister Sushil Koirala at his official residence Saturday to extend an invitation for him to participate in the match scheduled to be held in Kathmandu on June 6.

The event is orgainised by the Naya Patrika Daily.

All proceeds of the match is said to be used to purchase relief materials for the earthquake survivors. During the meeting Prime Minister Sushil Koirala explained why the government has adopted a one-door policy in relief supply to the earthquake-hit districts.

He said the one-door policy in relief supply was meant for preventing unbalanced allocation of relief materials and ensure equal distribution of relief goods and assistance to the disaster survivors. “There is possibility that areas having an access to transport facility may be flooded with relief supply while people of remote areas may always remain empty-handed in the absence of a one-door channel”, he said.

Whether or not the Prime Minister will take part is yet to be confirmed.
