After 7.8 magnitude earthquake on the apartment buildings in Kathmandu suffered major cracks.
After completing the inspection and safety assessment on each apartment, the Department categorizes it into one of the three categories- red, yellow and green - depending on the nature of the damage. Until now, the Department has inspected and categorized 20 apartments.
Apartments categorized as red are unsafe. Likewise, any apartment marked with yellow means its certain sections are unsafe for use. If tagged green, then the apartment is completely safe.
