The government has formulated budget and plan in order to complete the reconstruction task within five years. It has been making preparations to impart necessary training required in reconstruction task to 50,000 youths through Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training (CTEVT). On the occasion, Minister Mahat urged the lawmakers to monitor in their constituencies regarding the implementation of the budget. He further said that problems have surfaced to spend the capital expenditure due to instability in the administrative bodies following the frequent transfers of employees of the ministries and departments. Stating that priority should be given to talents and experts in bureaucracy, the Finance Minister said that billions of amount has been saved due to reduced cases of corruption because of increasing activities of Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA). The government has made an arrangement of giving authority to all ministries in the beginning of the fiscal year to end the trend of spending the budget in the end of the fiscal year, added Minister Mahat. According to the Ministry, the general budget of the fiscal year 2072/73 BS would increase by five percent while the development budget by 22 per cent. On the occasion, lawmakers demanded to increase budget in agriculture, forest, health, drinking water and sanitation sectors. They also drew attention of government regarding the risk of landslide in the hilly areas and flood in Tarai. The Committee President Prakash Jwala presided over the meeting. RSS
