In an interaction with media persons at his residence in Buddhanilkantha on Tuesday, Deuba refuted rumors swirling around. "I am not against Tharu," he added, "I have been portrayed as against the Tharu. How can a man who fought for Kamaiya freedom be opponent to Tharu." The veteran leader also said that he has been fighting for the rights of Tharu people and has been demanding special rights for them. Deuba clarified that he was for demarcating the country into seven federal provinces and never advocated for sidelining Kailali district. The interaction program was also attended by Nepali Congress leader representing Kailali district.
