A local leader of the Nepali Congress of Lekhnath Municipality in Kaski, Ramji Paudel was killed on Thursday night. Paudel, who was close to Dueba-faction was murdered by the NC cadres including Raju Ranabhat, who are close to Koirala-faction, according to chief of Kaski Police Hari Bahadur Pal. Paudel had registered his candidacy for Kaski 1 Municipal Committee. His body was found in Gagangauda near the Prithivi Highway, a kilometer away from his house, informed SP Pal. Badal, a permanent resident of Baralthar 1 of the Municipality, was murdered due to the conflict between the local cadres of the rival Koirala and Deuba factions. Police has arrested Ranabhat, who has already admitted to the killing, said police. Manoj Gurung, who was with Paudel when the murdered took place, sustained injuries.
