Nepal defeated India 5-4 in a penalty shootout to lift the first SAFF U-19 Championship title at the ANFA Complex in Satdobato, Lalitpur on Saturday. A victory for Nepal in the final has put a brake on India's six match undefeated record against Nepal in all forms of football and also ended the latter's 'jinx' against the South Asian powerhouse. Nepal's Ananta Tamang netted the decisive and last penalty while Nepal's goal keeper Sojit Gurung blocked India's first penalty strike from its player Mohamuddin. Hemanta Thapa Magar, Sunil Bal, Bishwas Shrestha and Dona Thapa all did their job after converting their penalties before the decisive penalty.
