A bomb has exploded in the centre of the Thai capital, Bangkok killing at least 16 people and injuring dozens more. Police say the scale of the attack is unprecedented. The bomb went off outside a Hindu shrine in a busy tourist area surrounded by shops and hotels. Witnesses at the scene have described terrible injuries and devastation. The attack took place during rush hour - close to the Erawan Shrine - in the capital's central Chidlom district.
