RDr Govinda KC ended his 14-day fast-unto-death on Sunday after an 11-point deal was struck between him and the government. "This protest is for the bright future of millions of children like Suvani, who offered me the juice and for people like Phurba, who have been living in remote places in so much hardship," Dr KC said after taking the juice. Despite his deteriorating health, Dr Govinda KC today said he would not break his fast-unto-death protest until all his six-point demand was fully implemented.Dr. KC has been organizing the staging the fast-unto-death at the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital for last seven days demanding changes in the nation’s medicinal sector. This is the 6th hunger strike Dr KC is staging over the last few years demanding the formulation and implementation of policies to reform the country’s medical sector. KC decided to stage hunger strike this time choice to pile pressure on the government to implement the policy reforms on medical education recommended by a high-level committee led by Professor Kedar Bhakta Mathema.
