Three people died on the spot at Bethari of Rupandehi district as Madhesi protestors clashed with the police while a four-year-old boy succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment at a hospital Tuesday evening.A clash had ensued after protestors pelted stones at police vehicles escorting three trucks loaded with various commodities toward Bhairahwa. The three deceased have been identified as Bindu Lakaul, 40, Ranjana Singh Kshetri, 16, and Raj Kumar Barai, 35 of Bethari. All three of them sustained bullet injuries during the clash. Meanwhile, Kundan Kumar Patel, who sustained injuries from rubber bullets, died while receiving treatment at Universal Medical College in Bhairahwa.
