A large numbers of cargo trucks carrying goods and petroleum products have entered into the Nepali side from Sunauli border in Bhairahawa. Indian officials decided to allow the freight trucks enter from the border following a meeting between officials from both sides. Four petroleum tankers, four LPG bullets, and other goods carrying trucks have already entered while more trucks have queued up for entry. The situation in Bhairahawa has remained calm today. There is also a heavy presence of security officials on either sides of the border.

These amendments are at the heart of the protests and violence in Nepal which have left at least 40 dead.
