All 20 accused in Tikapur’s Kailali incident have been sent to jail. They will remain in jail till their cases are finalized by the court.
According to information provided by District Police Office Kailali, all 20 arrested by the police were charged for killing 9 people including a minor on August 24. Among the arrested 2 are minors and therefore due to their age factor one of them has been sent to reform center while the other one has been handed over to his relatives.
According to the police, Kailali District Court issued and orders against central committee member of Madheshi Jana Adhikar Forum Laxman Tharu, District Chairman of Tharu Kalyankari Sabha Lahu Ram Tharu, Regional Chairman of area no. 3 Kailali of Madheshi Jana Adhikar Forum Ram Prasad Choudhary, Prem Bahadur Choudhary, Hari Narayan Choudhary, Raj Kumar Katariya, Dil Bahadur Choudhary, Sundar Lal Katariya, Ram Kumar Katariya, Rajesh Choudhary, Brij Mohan Dangouriya, Kishan Lal Choudhary, Santa Lal Choudhary, Bir Baadur Choudhary, Ram Naresh Choudhary, Jeet Bahadur Dangouria aka Bishram, Santosh Tharu Choudhary aka Sangam, Bishram Choudhary, Tahabour Atijaga, and Pradeep Choudhary to be sent to jail.
36 accused are still absconding and police has intensified its search operation. Similarly, police have not yet found LMG and a pistol that was lost during the incident in Kailali of Tikapur.
