KP Sharma Oli becomes Nepal's new prime minister

Khadga Prasad Sharma Oli born 22 February 1952, commonly known as K P Oli is the current & 38th prime minister of Nepal and chairman of Communist Party of Nepal.
Kp Oli has been elected as the 38th Prime Minister of the country with majority votes on Sunday.

"KP Sharma Oli secured 338 of the 587 votes cast, giving him a majority," Speaker Subash Chandra Nembang announced at parliament.
Oli elected as new PM after the third and fourth largest political parties in the parliament Unified Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist) and Rastriya Prajapantra Party-Nepal respectively along with other fringe parties threw their weight behind Oli's candidacy.Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday spoke to newly-elected Nepalese Prime Minister Khadga Prasad Oli and congratulated him for his victory. Modi called Nepal’s newly elected Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and congratulated him after he is elected as Nepal's new prime minister.

During their conversation, Modi invited his new Nepali counterpart to visit India, according to the official Twitter account of Office of the Prime Minister of India.s Modi congratulated Oli, the newly-elected prime minister shared about the hardships Nepali people have been facing due to acute shortage of fuel and other essentials as a result of "undeclared" blockade imposed by India along the Nepal-India border.
 "As the newly-elected prime minister informed the Indian counterpart about the crisis, Modi asked him to write to him about the matter and said that he would take initiatives to resolve the problem," CPN-UML lawmaker Rajan Bhattarai, who is close to Oli, told Republica.
