Update: Bhairawa border crossing between Nepal and India

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has called on the agitating parties to seek a solution of the problems through talks, promising to address their demands as much as possible. Addressing the concluding session of the seventh International General Assembly and World Conference of Non Resident Nepali Association in the capital city Saturday, the Prime Minister pledged to carry out amendments to the constitution as per the people's demand and aspirations. He called on the agitating parties to come for talks to search for a way out to the problems, as agitation would do nothing except inconvenience to the people. Insisting on political unity when the country is facing difficulty, the Prime Minister called on the Nepali Congress to participate in the government and support it to deal with adverse situation in the country. PM Oli urged the NRNs across the globe to support efforts aimed to making the country self-reliant in view of economic development with the modernization and commercialization of agro sector.

On the occasion, former Prime Minister Sushil Koirala reaffirmed that Nepali Congress (NC) would move ahead collaborating with the incumbent government. Koirala clarified that he filed his candidacy for the new Prime Minister last Sunday as per the decision of his party, which he called a 'compulsory move'. He also argued that he contested in the Prime Minister's election for the democracy.
