The Nepalese government plans to purchase a third of its total demand for petroleum products from China to offset the fuel shortage caused by an "Indian blockade." If so, this would be the first time in Nepal's history to import fuel from an otherwise country than India. Nepal has accused India of imposing a "trade blockade" over its new constitution, which has been denied by India.
