Madhesi parties to open Biratnagar point for medicines

The agitating United Democratic Madhesi Front have decided to continue their protest programes including the blockade at Indo-Nepal border points. however, said it would let medicines and medical equipment enter the nation via Biratnagar customs point, “considering humanity.”A meeting between the top leaders of the major political parties and agitating United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF) ended inconclusively at Singhadurbar on Wednesday.The meeting lasted for around two hours and ended without making any decision. According to leaders who participated in the meeting, the talks failed as both sides were adamant on their stances. The protesting Front also accused the government of sitting for talks without serious preparation. Emerging from the meeting, UCPN-Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, who had led the ruling parties, however, said the talks did not fail.Upendra Yadav, Mahantha Thakur, Mahendra Raya Yadav and Laxman Lal Karna are taking part in the talks representing the UDMF, said Ram Naresh Raya. Similarly, UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, UML senior leader Jhala Nath Khanal and RPP-N Chairman Kamal Thapa will take part in the meeting from the major parties.
