November 18 marks the gathering of 87 “Beauties for a Cause” from all over the world in celebration of MISS EARTH’s Crystal Year in Eco- Friendly, Vienna Austria to promote environmental awareness by focusing on the Climate Change campaign thru the 5R’s : Re-think, Reduce, Reuse, Recyle and Respect. A hyped international event since 2001 with global coverage on TV, Radio, Print and Social Media because of its advocacy, MISS EARTH earned the recognition of being an international environmental event participated in by responsible beauty queens by promoting environmental awareness, empowering women worldwide and supporting international environmental organizations. Through the years MISS EARTH has planted about a 100,000 trees . We also partnered with organizations in their global tree-planting campaigns. MISS EARTH enhanced environmental awareness also through school tours, reaching about 26M children in participating countries since 2001. These activities include conducting Beach Clean ups, Environmental Seminars and other environmental campaigns in communities.
