Clash between Madhesi Front cadres and police that began in Bhardaha and Rupani last night, continues as of this morning. The area along the East-West Highway remains tense following the death of two demonstrators last night. The clash took place after police tried to clear the highway for passenger vehicles. Meanwhile, the demonstrators have set ablaze a motorcycle in Rupni of Saptari this morning. The rider with the motorcycle (Sa4Pa. 5311) was on his way towards Rajbiraj from Gaighat when the incident took place, police said. The motorcycle has been completely gutted. In a similar incident in Dhanusa, a truck and a motorcycle were set on fire by the demonstrators at Dhalkebar. The truck, Ja. 4 Kha. 626, was carrying buffaloes from Mahendranagar of Dhanusa to Kathmandu when it was set ablaze. The Morcha said that the buffaloes were offloaded before setting the truck on fire. Likewise, the Front cadres set a motorcycle on fire on the charge of it being used to smuggle fuel. The motorcycle (Ja.4Pa.6668) was torched also for defying the banda. Meanwhile, police said they are looking for those involved in the two incidents, according to Area Police Office, Dhalkebar. RSS
