Nepal lost their second consecutive match against Papua New Guinea (PNG) losing their second round fixture of the ICC World Cricket League Champions 0-2 at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday. Electing to bat first, half century from Paras Khadka led Nepal to 224-8 before PNG staged a fine comeback through Jack Vare finishing at 225-7 in 49.4 overs. It was a similar story for Nepal who once again went to a winning position reducing PNG to 141-7 in 34.3 overs before throwing away the game to a defining 84-run partnership between Vare and John Reva.

In their defense of 233 in the first game on Monday, Nepal had also left PNG reeling at 134-6 before they ended up losing the game by two wickets. The two batsmen first played Nepali bowlers sensibly before scoring the runs as required by the situation of the game. Vare made 76 off 90 with three boundaries, while Reva was unbeaten on 31 off 45 in an innings that included one four.
