Senior leader of the CPN-UML and former Prime Minister Jhalanath Khanal has said the undeclared Indian blockade has taught Nepali people to be self-reliant. At a press meet organized by Press Chautari here on Tuesday, senior leader Khanal said as India imposes blockade on Nepal time and again, Nepalis need to seek measures to become self-dependent. The peace and security situation in Tarai district is not effective, he said, adding that the demand of two provinces raised by Madhesi Front can’t be addressed. He however expressed worry that the government was not active and effective as expected.
