Protesters quit border sit-ins

Madhesi Morcha group Saturday announced a fresh protest programs saying that the government was not yet serious to resolve the ongoing unrest in the Tarai region through talks. Issuing a press statement Saturday, the Front said it continued the ongoing protest programs besides launching some new demonstration activities.

The statement was signed by Federal Socialist Forum-Nepal’s Upendra Yadav, Tarai Madhes Democratic Party’s Mahantha Thakur, Tarai Madhes Sadbhawana Party’s Mahendra Raya Yadav and Sadbhawana Party’s Laxman Lal Kanra. The meeting of the front chalked out protest programs from January 12 to 19. The front said it will stage protest rallies and assemblies during the period. According to new programs, the Front would demonstrate mass rallies and protest assemblies in all district headquarters on January 12; exhibit paintings, photos and documentaries about the government suppression on protests, in all district headquarters and major cities on January 14.
