The death toll from last week’s massive earthquake in Nepal has surpassed 7,802, Nepal’s National Emergency Operation Centre said Saturday. Police in Bardiya today have rescued five women from Kalika VDC-8 in Bardiya district. They were lured into a job in India and were being trafficked. A team of women police on petrol rescued Bimala Budha, 21 from Bageshowri-9, Richa Sunar, 19, from Shumshergunj-7, Alisma Kumari, 17, from Kohalpur Municipality-10 and Bimala BK, 17, from the same locality and Bimal Kumari from Mahadevpuri-10 of the district. Teenager pulled alive from Nepal rubble after five days: ‘It’s a miracle’ The startling new numbers came hours after a U.N. official said that customs inspections at Kathmandu airport are holding up vital relief supplies for survivors in Nepal. Local people in the district are gradually starting to return to their daily activities. The earthquake victims keep themselves busy in salvaging their belongings from their destroyed houses all day long. On the other hand, the farmers were found working at field after 11th day of the devastating earthquake. The quake-displaced people, who had been staying in makeshift tents for days, started returning homes after technicians inspected their houses and declared them livable.
