Nepal Terai Tension as Protests Continue

The four major political parties have reviewed the different incidents and the clashes occurred at various places including Monday’s Tikapur clash.

The meeting held at Prime Minister’s official residence at Baluwatar has pointed out the need of effective role of the government in this context. Following the meeting, UCPN (Maoist) Vice-chair Narayan Kaji Shrestha informed that the parties were committed to continue the constitution drafting process as per the previous commitment made among the political parties. Similarly, CPN (UML) Vice-chair Bhim Rawal commented that the Kailali incident was deplorable as it was staged with criminal mindset. He added that the constitution drafting process would continue as per the previous commitment. RSS
