Nepal's national flag -- the only one in the world with a triangular shape -- should be changed to reflect the new socio-political reality in the nascent republic, lawmakers have demanded.

The Maoists, who waged a decade-long insurgency in the country before returning to political mainstream, say the sun and moon in the current national flag represent the Rana and Shah dynasties and should be replaced.
